design rf mixer
I used to be in the IC designs but now I?ve changed to RF. At first I thought both RF and IC designs are similar, but the longer I?m in RF, I?ve decided that I was wrong.
Are there any tips on the steps to design in RF (specifically Mixers).
The transmission line, matching, etc?which should be first? I?m lost in the steps of RF designs.
Thanks
Take a look at Steve Maas' books, specifically "Nonlinear Microwave Circuits" and "Microwave Mixers". For an unbalanced single FET mixer it's pretty much just bias it at pinchoff, drive it hard into saturation, short out RF and LO, and match as needed. Same with diode except you are not biasing.
hi
Nice chapters from nice books!
If u need more please ask!

i agree with madeng Maas's book is great in mixer design. also there is another book written by Maas call
RF and microwave nonlinear circuits
i strongly recommend it

Thanks DDavid for the posts.
Is the RFIC and MMIC design & tech written by I.D. Robertson and S. Lucyszyn?
If yes, I already have the book.
Btw, which chapter that you have posted from the book?
As u may see, I?m quite short for the downloading points and I?m saving it for the Steven Maas book.
Thanks again
Thank you very much

Thank you very much
RF Microelectronics written by Behzad Razavi is also valued to read.
the book by Thomas Lee is also good. I had read it.
