Total Field Calculation from Anechoic Chamber

is a non phase tracked system. what is the total field calculated from? is it a sum of the magnitude of the two primary polarizations (vertical and horizontal) or is there some other mathematics? seems like there should be more.

in turn how is this handled in a phase tracked system such as a nearfield chamber?
