References on Laser Diodes

Colleagues,

Could you post some references about the laser diodes and driver circuits for them? References to printed books would be good. Most of the app notes I found on the web deal with fiber optics or CD/DVD. I have a different application in mind, it's probably less challenging. I’d like to use a combination of laser diode and photodiode for spectrometry.

Driver circuits are mainly varying according to the laser diode operation mode, particularly CW, modulated CW or pulsed. Standard circuits for power controlled CW operation can be found in most LD datasheets and applications notes, I think.

You should narrow your laser diode application regarding intended operation mode. I assume, that your not targeting to tunable laser diodes, which would be actually an advanced topic.
