combline filter
I used hunter's book and follow the example, the simulation work well but he did not say any thing about how to calculate the spacing tnd diameter
is there any body who can help in this nightmar
also is there any software for doing that
Many thanks in advance

This Tutorial just about the
comb line filter.
HI IIccee
can you tell me where i can find this tutorial
Cheers
just in the forum and u can search for it.
I just can not find it
i tried diffrent words searching but it seem it is not there
if you know the link please help
cheers
Hi mzewani.
U can find it at:

cheers
A good book which can help u is:
Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications
By Jia-Sheng Hong and M.J.Lacaster
In this book a method is explain to extract the Qext and Mij against phsical dimension and spacing of the filter using EM simulation.Actually I have make a combline filter using this technique.
U can download SonnetLite for EM simulations its free at
www.sonnetusa.com
Most of the information published in the 1960's and 1970's only works for coupled resonators with quarter wavelength. If you design a combline filter and use say Cristal's or Kammler's equations, the bandwidth will be too wide. But ... There is a short correspondance from R. Kurzrok in the July 1966 IEEE MTT titled "Design of comb-line band-pass filters". He gives an equation which will scale the coupling coefficients to account for the shortened combline resonators. It works very very well for moderate Q filters (resonator diameters less than 20mm). The filter will be a little narrow and you can correct the BW with coupling screw. I can post paper if you do not have access to it.

you can use IE3D to simulation
hi using one of most accurate em simulator(IE3D),u can find in it some examples lp,bp,with more techniques, hope setup it
regards
hi,kunkun_5201314
Pls search this scaning book(MICROWAVE FILTERS,IMPEDANCE-MATCHING NETWORKS,AND COUPLING STRUCTURES) in http://www.elektroda.pl/eboard/.
you can design a combine filter with HFSS
http://www.ansoft.com/hfworkshop04/
you can designe with microwave office wizard with spacing and diameter of resonator.
i implemented in s band with narrow bandwidth
does any1 know about design of combline round rod cavity filters?
Hi
I have good information about combline filter
so what exactly do you want to know, and I will be happy to help
as a start you can read the articl by Peter Martin
Design equations for tapped round rod combline and interdigital bandpass filters
Hi rf100
That document was great. But It doesn't give the details about deciding the external coupling bandwidths. Is Ke = \frac{w}{\sqrt{g_1}} ?
Even the coupling bandwidths considered in the example,
Is K_{ij} = \frac{w}{\sqrt{g_ig_j}} where w is the fractional bandwidth = BW/f0
When I apply this formula the values don't match with the values given in the document.
Please clarify
Regards.
