Bandpass filter classification
attached is a Bandpass filter design i extracted from a paper. May i know which type is this design classified under?
I read somewhere that there are 8 types of microstrip filter design approach namely stepped-impedance filters,
open-stub filters,
semilumped element filters,
end- and parallel-coupled
half-wavelength resonator filters,
hairpin-line filters,
interdigital and combline filters,
pseudocombline filters,
and stub-line filters
Are the above all? Which type is my attached design classified under? Thanks
Hello,

Hey! Thank you so much. I thought the thread was dead. Im curious to know what is the drive behind all these different design? Do they each have their own pros an cons? Or just new way of doing things?
Hello,
Yes, definitely their are lot of pros & cons say implementaion of the filter, charactristics of the filters
such as Rejection, etc will differ lot...
The best source for these comparision/trade-off details is the below link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_element_filter
and the Text book:
"Microstrip filters for RF/microwave applications", by J.-S. G. Hong and M. J. Lancaster, John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
