Hi all,
I am trying to measure Sparameters for a LNA. In measurement, the LNA output load is 50Ω. However, in real life, a mixer is connected after a LNA. So the output load of a LNA is not 50Ω. My question is that if I have a S-parameters under 50Ω load, can I convert them to a new set of S-paramenters under the new loading impedance (eg: 1K, 2K)?

Of course, you can make new S-parameter based on measured S- parameters in the simulation software, such as ADS.

I'm currently designing a UWB patch antenna using CST MWS. I got all the results i want such as S11,radiation pattern etc. The line impedance of my antenna also got 50 ohms. But what is confusing me is the smith chart not all 50 ohms at my desired frequency (3.1 - 10.6 GHz). Is smith chart still important since i already got 50 ohms at line impedance? And what would happen to the fabricated antenna if the smith chart not 50 ohms?
