Designing microwave frequency amplifier between 2-5 GHz

Hi every one .
I am tasked with designing the microwave frequency amplifier between 2-5 GHz frequency , which frequency should be easy to work with and how should I start , I mean which software should be good for simulation (will microwave office serve the purpose.).
Thanking in anticipation

u can use balanced mode, put two amp and combain them with lange oupler/

Can you pleas elaborate the balanced mode please, I am new to this subject so looking forward for some brief explanation. plz

The Lange coupler is a space efficient way of getting a broadband 90 degree coupler. This is used to split the input to two amplifiers driven 90 degrees apart. The outputs are summed up in phase with an identical coupler.

When two amps are driven this way the reflected signals will be isolated from the input by the 90 coupler, (work it out on paper). This means you do not have to attempt a broad band match for a single amplifier.

There are also noise and distortion benefits for a balanced amplifier approach. Odd harmonics and intermods cancel.

Thanks a lot man .it makes sense , and can you please let me know which software would be better for simulation.

I used microwave office for the design. I haven't used that in a while but I remember there being a Lange coupler element.

I simulated the linear response only with the S-parameters provided by the manufacturer, Avago ATF-34143 transistor.

This model has the noise match for the input. I was making a low noise amplifier, this data tells you how to absorb the noise that comes backwards from the gate so it does not reflect back into the input of the amplifier and increase the noise figure.

My design was from 800 to 2000MHz and VSWR was <1.3:1 across the band.
