test fixture for leadless chip carriers
I can not afford some sort of probing station approach, since I would need 5 x hundreds micromanipulators--way too expensive.
Does anyone make some sort of cheap pad attachment scheme out there. Maybe some sort of flex circuit thing with a foam rubber/clamp to make the connections stick?
Thanks, Rich
Hi biff44,
Your cheapest way is, I belief, some construction of a sandwich, build with "silicon elastomer strips" & a pressed second board; they has all your cabeling/ connectors on the backside
They are in the hight of i.e. 2-3 mm to order in lot of versions, some i.e. has contact springs inside on random raster, but in max ca. 0.2-3mm evrey times one.
The knowed LCD "strip connectors" are similar.

What frequency / power are you dealing with? If it's low GHz & low power try htt#://www.inotech.org. I'm uncertain how well this prototyping system performs above a few GHz.
I have it yet:

And here with the spoken/wroten wires too:

Thanks for the ideas. It is 10 ghz, 100 mw.

Rich, I think with fujipoly or shin-itshu contact strips is 10 GHz real, and 100mW should be no problem...
