Evolutionary algorithm for antennas

Hi all,

I'm about to start work on a new antenna project. Some of my collegues think to use evolutionary algorithm for antenna optimization.
As I never worked with this algorithm, can you tell me how much antenna design was done until now with this method? Are we talking of a new and/or poorly examined ground, or it is broadly used?
