Measuring frequency of a colpitts oscillator

Hi,

I have a colpitts oscillator and I want to know the frequecy of its oscilllations.How do I measure the frequency using a digital multimeter which meaures frequency?

ummmm my first question back to you would be .... what frequency crystal do you have in it ?

Maybe you are using a version without a crystal see here for colpitts info....

Generally the frequency reading of standard Digital Multimeters is low.
Better is to use a frequency counter.
