How can I desgin microstrip feeding for a patch antenna?
I have a problem in designing a micro strip feeding in CST.
when I design a coaxial feeding , I define coax entrance for port, for example I select dielectric's face of coax for port.
But when I design a micro strip line as port, CST make an error that says the port can not contain completely from PEC !
does any body know what is may fault in design ?javascript:emoticon('')
best regards

hi
Thank you for your answer.
but I think my problem is in working with CST. how I can define micro-strip port in CST. which face I have to select to define it as port ? for example to define a coax as port , I have to select dielectric face as port. How about micro-strip feeder ?
Hi & tnx majidmad!
Hmmm_I must pass it, sorry...

Hey,
I'm having the same problem too. Is it possible to define a sheet perpendicular to the end of microstrip line and then define the port?
This youtube video may answer your question.

Around the 4 min mark it shows adding edge ports to microstrip.
It is also possible to add waveguide ports to microstrip. Not waveguide in the sense of metal tubes but as described in this video. Just after the 6 minute mark.
