Branch Coupler Line
How can i find the suitable references about "Branch Coupler Line"?!
Please let me to know how can i design them on the HFSS or MWO?
Can anybody help me!
Thanks in Advance.
Vahab
P.S.i I want to simulate it on the HFSS or MWO
check david pozar book "microwave engineering"
about the MWO and HFSS , u can check the manuals

Hello Vahab,
It is very eay to design & analyse Branchline coupler using AWR Microwave Office (MWO)....
Sine both Linear Circuit Simulator & EM simulators are seamlessly integrated to layout in MWO...It is matter of minutes to Optimize the design...
Their are couple of good examples with Project design Notes available in AWR installation folder...
C:\Program Files\AWR\AWR2007\Examples\Microwave_Office\Design _Types\Couplers\
Also I have attached simple example to show the steps & procedure for you...

Hi,
Branchline Hybrid Coupler design is a very simple one. You can search net for various documents and papers pertaining to it. Better try designing it in Agilent's ADS software. The practical results after fabricating the PCB almost match momentum simulation results.
Go through this page, it should help you understand basics.

Microwaves101.com is a good site for reference.
Good luck!

branchline couplers are great at low frequencies, like 1 GHz, where the line lengths are long with respect to the overall part.
At high frequencies, like 10 GHz, the line lengths are quite short, and you start having to model the T junctions very carefully to get it on frequency. It would help a lot if you had an EMAG simulator to analyze the final coupler.
how can we desing the coupler for dual band,,in the books and lectures it is only specified for single band...
