Knee or Threshold voltage of SRD
Does any body know what is the knee voltage of an Step Recovery Diode? It should be biased at what voltage in a Frequency Doubler?
Thanks
I used a pair of SRD diodes without DC bias.
In another post of this forum, someone said the Id of SRD should be 0.5mA.
I have also used my varactor and SRD's without DC bias

The thing is I am working with -40 to -70 dBm input signals. The dc biasing will raise my output signal or in other words decrease my conversion loss.
I simulated my frequency doubler in MWO and found out that for my diode 500 mV was just perfect to get a conversion loss of around 9 dB with -10 dBm input power. But Why is this value 500mV? It is close to which voltage? Knee Voltage? SRD has a Knee voltage?
There's a classical HP application note on SRD linked in this thread https://www.edaboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=116912
