How to use Divide-by-6 Prescalar MC12009?
For divide-by-6, I know to Link pin 1/6/16 to +5V, pin8 to GND, I have the following questions:
1.pin9/10/11/12/13(EN1~5) to should be low, should I link all of them directly to GND OR use a resistor(what's value?) to GND?
2. Should I left Pin2/3/4/5/14 open? The input should be 60M sinwave, the out should be 10M sinwave or square-wave. Should be there a pull-up resistor(what's value?) between pin16 and pin15?
3. I had only a picture of using MC12009, but it's not so clear and I don't have the module to test.
Anyone can help me? Thanks inadvance.
hey Tony,
ok as you said, for the 12009, tie the E1 - E5 pins direct to GND for divide-by 6
you could look at Fig 5 and see what they did with pin 14 for your application it prob wouldnt hurt
Pin 2 and 3 are the 2 outputs....
the only other thing to note is you probably wont be using both ouputs Q and Q bar whichever isnt used gets tied to GND via a 50 Ohm resistor
Pins 4 and 5 are a couple of inputs to the translator section where MCL gets converted to TTL. In you want a TTL output then pins 2 and 3 will go to pins 4 and 5 and your TTL output would appear on pin 7
If you are not going to use the translator just tie pins 4,5,7 direct to GND
cheers
Dave
Thank you very much, Dave, Now I know how to use it.
