180 hybrid design using Ansoft Designer
I'm designing a 180 degree hybrid using Ansoft Designer 6.1. How to I simulate the circuit? How to use the EM simulator and Optimiser tool in Designer?
Thank you for the help!
I designed a Rat Race Coupler (180 degree hybrid) in Ansoft Designer. Once you figure out the dimensions (width and lamda/4) based on the frequency of operation and dielectric substrate properties, then it's easy. Use edge ports and simulate.
If you use the right dimensions for the rat-race coupler, you will get nice results right away. There is no need to use optimizer tool.

If you are not sure of the physical parameters, use Designer's circuit simulation first. Its works like ADS.
Thank you. I did get my circuit working in Ansoft designer circuit simulator but the dimensions don't comply the design specifications. I'm trying to use Optimizer or tuning. I couldn't find any tutorials on using Optimizer or tuning... Could you help me with Optimizing my circuit?
Hi,
I would search for "Optimetrics" in the help pages. There you can find all the information you need for optimizing your circuit.
