Genetic algorithm in Patch Antenna

I designed a patch antenna using IE3D and divided its surface to rectangls. How can i using genetic algorithm remove specific rectangl for size reduction.

I we designed a ptch antenna and segmented its surface into rectangls, then we want to reduce its size using genetic algorithm, how does the genetic algorith know which sub rectangl is to be removed ( on what it depends)?
