Can ASK/FSK ICs be modulate by voice in UHF RF oscillator?
I'm trying to find any details of this IC - but all ICs I find (from Maxim for example) are ASK/FSK ICs.
I've tried to google it without success.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Nina
The answer is yes.
Usually to transmit low data rate signals (such as voice) up to 100kB/s the modulation is ASK or FSK. Do you have some part number of the IC? Any schematic of the transmitter?
I hope it can help.

Hi,
Thank you for responding,
All I could saw was the first 3 digits from 4 - they were 720 - and I think the last digit is 1. I could see a T at 90 degrees - that leg 6 is + and leg 8 is GND. Leg 3 is connected to one side of the crystal. Legs 1, 2, 5 not connected.
That's all I have...
Thanks again for help,
Nina
Hi, Analog voice ?.. You can only try by placing a varicap on the XTAL and put your analog audio on the varicap through a resistor.
Thank you Paul,
Yes, it has a Varicap on board. I understand that it does a x 32 multiplication from the crystal. But I still cannot find any 8 leads IC (smd - SOT...) that may be similar to this one. I found 16 leads and up, but not a 8 leads one... Still looking for it, Trying to find one by one - no way so far...
Best Regards,
Nina

I put a close up picture on an ftp - it's too large (1.2M) to upload it here.

Hi : have u consulted product manual of solid stated devices for the purpose, however the concept of varactor aith the cystal works.
Hi,
No, I haven't. What exactly do you mean by "the manual..." ?
Thanks for your answer,
Nina
Hi Nina,
Look at microchip for there RF chips rfPIC etc... Micrel has some chips using 13.56 MHz Xtal to make 433.92. and also Maxim has a chip !. The rest is all more than 8 pin's. regards, Paul.
PS: You can only make NFM Narrow band FM so wide band FM like 88-108 MHz radio stations you can't make this way !. Maximum deviation is some 1KHz * 32 = 32KHz !. Which is fine for handheld radio which uses 12.5 KHz channel and 3.5KHz deviation !.
Hi
A little late but the chip is made by MELEXIS. Part number TH72011.
