Why I can't create some folder names in Windows?
its not only CON , there are other several keywords used by windows OS which they dont allow user to use it for folder names...

these are old age tricks from windows
e.g prn, AUX, CLOCKS, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, ...
you can try the above examples tooo.....

but you can create con folder from DOS... did you know that?
the command is
md\\.\\c:\con

works anywhere but in dos command....
works with95 and xp, but did not try in 7 or vista.......
Those names are already in use by the OS, that's why you can reuse them. They are the named files used for basic input and output streams.
For example, if you copy a file to COM1, it doesn't create a new file, it send it out serially through com port 1.
