Photodiode - Using bare chips

Hi All,

I am after a photodiode with minimum dimensions. Bare die/chip at Vishay T1670P has the required dimensions.

Is it easy to use them. What can be their pros and cons?

One more question please.
An photodiode with peak sensitivity at 900nm, can be sourced by solar illumination instead of a source at 900nm to get the same results?

The thing is I want to illuminate it with solar illumination will these Photodiodes work efficiently, knowing the fact that solar illumination has got 900nm radiation.
