I have selected RFID tracking and mapping as my final year project. I have planned to make RFID tags and reader myself. Then interface it with a system that will recognize the object and then map the location of the object on a design of a house in which the working will be done.
I have a couple of questions;
1. Is this worth a final year project?
2. I also want to track people with it so it needs to have a range greater than atleast 30m, so i have decided to used active tags. is this a good idea? is there any alternative solution?
3. i have very little experience with microwave, is a rfid tag similar to a small antenna? what is the major difference?
4. can i some how get circuit diagrams or content related to this project if any one has worked on it because all i have been able to find is designs that are compatible with passive antennas?
PLZ HELP!

if you dont have experience then it is adviced not to start unless you get good help or supprot in your college... you cant rely on a forum to complete your project....
Can some one plz tell me a Passive RFID module that has a read range of about 2 m? I am now making an attendance and asset tracking system.
There is plenty passive UHF RFID reader module on the market, like WJ, SkyeTek. In addition, if you want more flexibility, you can try develop kit from Austrian Microsystems (AS3992) or Impinj (R2000).
