Connecting Square spiral with Transmission line
Could anybody please advice as to how the sq spiral be connected to a horizontal transmission line.
By a wire (I am working at 40 GHz) or directly together ( The end of the spiral will act as if two transmission line are connected together horizontally)
Thanks in advance.

Due to magnetic coupling and interaction between coil and transmission line, don't put the coil too close to th transmission line because the characterictic impedance of the transmission line will be influenced.
In additional to, coil parameters will show some discrepencies from simulated/measured values because of this coupling..
The best way to determine the right point is to simulate the transmission line and coil together. Then you may decide which distance is right which is not..
IN ADS, you can do momentum analysis.
Looking at all your questions on microwave layout posted over past couple of days, you should get help (consulting) from an experienced microwave designer.
Volker : Thanks but the problem is where to get one (free of charge)
