Momentum error: Patterns overlap in input geometry. help!
When I perform a simulation to a layout, it is succesful. However, when I add some other metal layers to the orginal layout. The simulator give me an error message as follow:
ERROR:
Patterns overlap in input geometry.
Please modify geometry.
What cause this error? May you show me the solution? Thks.
I guess it could be due to improper definition of layers.
Share the design if possible.
ADS accepts pattern overlap on same layer but I am not sure what exactly.
The design package has been attached, hopefully you can dismiss the trouble. Thanks.
It did not given any problem for me.
I am using 2008u2 version
What is your version
It's so strange. I am using 2006A and 2008. Both versions present the same error.
Maybe I need to download a 2008u2 version.
Could you pls tell me the weblink ? Thanks.
PS: How long does it take for simulating this layout?
per frequency simulation it taking 3 hrs
Added after 1 minutes:
From Knowledge center you can download the latest version
I believe now it is 2008u3
kspalla,
I built an indutor in Momentum, S-para simulation has been finished.
Now how to creat a symbol for Cadence pss simulation?
That is to say, I wnna to perform pss simulation in Cadence enviroment based on this inductor. Tks!
I never worked with Cadence, I am sorry.
I guess you need to open this design in schematic and create a symbol.
This procedure is for ADS.
You may try with momentum--->component --->creat/update-->select layout look like
Anybody please help in this regard.
Hi, Kaspalla,
I have downloaded the 2008u2 version and installed on my PC. The simulation terminated with the error message: out of memory.
My PC has 4G RAM.
As you mentioned, your simulation is sucessful, so I want to know what the cofiguration is in your computer? workstation or PC ? and their RAM?
Tks a lot!
Its HP work station
2GB RAM
What is the OS?
I have xp pro.
Is your PC displays 4GM RAM ?
When I kept the 4GB ram in to the respective slots it shown me only 3.5GB RAM.
How did you configure 4GB RAM?
My PC only display 3GB RAM, but our Lab manager said that it was equipped with 4GB RAM. The display mismatch steps from the 32 bit system. If the PC is 64 bit, it will display 4GB RAM.
A few years late, but did this get resolved? I am curious because I had the same error and not sure how to resolve it.
