Dispersion is the spreading of the signal due to different frequency levels associated with it.

There are plenty of books that mention dispersion to such a huge extent.i am sure you can benefit from books.

You can consider it to be dispersion...

But to be specific, dispersion is the phenomenon occurring due to the change in the velocity (based on frequency) when the medium of propagation changes..
Due to this the frequency components in a particular signal is separated a bit and the width of the pulse increases...
