Walkie Talkies connect with base stations?

时间:04-06 整理:3721RD 点击:
I just got this doubt. Do walkie talkies connect with some kind of base station? or Is there a direct connection between the transmitter and the receiver?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Dear Ivenkey
It is a simple transceiver .and nothing else !

Yes. So it means that there should be no repeaters in between, right?

I just got confused because wikipedia says sometimes we have repeaters in between.

suppose that you and your friend , have one of them ( at all 2 of them ) you can talk to your friend with that , and you can hear things that your friend will say , with that , simply .

in some countries there are rules that allow for repeater use in the ~470MHz CB radio band. You havent stated anything about what frequencies your "walkie talkies" are on, so give a bit more info so we dont have to guess :)

direct from one radio to another radio is called simplex operation, via a repeater is called duplex operation.
Us amateur radio operators use repeaters on a number of the bands we have allocated. It helps to give better
coverage especially when mobile
