How to simulate NFdsb & NFssb of a mixer using ADS ?
When i simulate the NFdsb & NFssb of a mixer using ADS,I get the result :NFssb=8.6 & NFdsb=7.2 . Is that correct?
Good question, it depends on your mixer topology and how you simulate your NF.
Further informations, like schematic, would be helpful.
I am so sorry to you, because I do it in my company,I can not put it on the Internet or forum. If you have any example of how to simulate the noise figure ,can you send it to my E-mail,thank you a lot.My E-mail addres is caikundi@sina.cn . I hope anyone can help me.
any one can help ?
In ADS there are quite good examples of noise figure simulation of mixer ("Design Guide")!
I have seen it yesterday, thank you .But I think that the NFssb is equal to NFdsb+3dB,and the result in many examples do not match it,as well as my own result. It confuse me somedays.
As i remember it is NFssb=NFdsb-3db, from IEEE definition of SSB-Noise figure. They assume that there is no noise at the mirror frequency!
“Single SideBand Noise Figure is 3dB higher than a Double SideBand Noise Figure” .But hou to explain the result what is not 3dB higer ?
Yes in reality, but from IEEE the mirror frequency contributes no noise, it is noiseless! In ADS your definition is right! If there is a smaller difference than 3dB one explanation would be a different response of the mixer at the signal and mirror frequencies!
Thank you very much.I think you are right.
