hi all,
im aware the difference between class 1,2 and 3 of bluetooth. when a class 1 device connected to class 2 device, does it get the class 1 range? most of the text im reading from the net says it wont.
when we transferring a file from class 1 device to class 2 device, i think it should get range equal to class 1 device transfer to a class 1 device because sensitivity of class 1 and class 2 mostly similar. Am i correct?

TX power is the same, bandwidth is the same, and the receiver SNR requirement is the same (even one use GFSK an the other use DPSK).
That means the range should be the same, even they claim different.
dear Vfone,
Tx power is different for class 1 and 2. class 1 max permitted power is 20dBm whereas class 2 is 4dBm.
i already know the answer for this question. Bluetooth communication is not one way so communication between class 1 and class 2 can never be as good as class 1 to class 1.
