IE3D -- impedance matching ?

时间:04-01 整理:3721RD 点击:
Hi..

i simulated an antenna structure using IE3D.
But after that.. i changed the dielectric constant without changing any other input parameters or the lenght of width of path or feedline.
So i think.. the impedance matching will be changed ?

How do i make sure that after changing the dielectric constant value to another value.. the impedance matching remains same.. ie it shud still match to 50 ohm.

is it possible to find how much mismatch has occured using ie3d ?
also, how to correct this mismatch ?

thanks

Hi, Sumit007:

I tried to post the message twices and they did not go thru. This is the 3rd time.

Basically, the S11 or return loss will change if you change the dielectric constant. You just re-simulate the structure with the new parameters and you will know how the return loss changes with the dielectric constant.

Best regards,

Thanks Jian.
Yes.. i re-simulated the structure again.

But someone said that the impedance matching circuit also has to be changed now because i have changed the dielectric constant for proper matching. So i'm not sure is there a tool in IE3D which will allow me to recalculate all the values again for proper matching.

Hi, Sumit007:

If the change in S11 caused by the change in the dielectric constant is significant, you certainly need to re-adjust or re-design your matching network. You can use the optimizers on IE3D to re-optimize it.

Best regards,
