Simulation using FDTD -EM wave passing through an iron Mesh

i have to send an Electromagnetic signal through an iron mesh, which is placed perpendicular to the direction of propagation of signal....

assume that the signal is one-dimensional travelling in X-direction..
and the mesh is placed in the YZ-plane.

In this case is it possible to simulate the signal using FDTD Method..

if it is possible i really need help in matlab code for the simulation..

does anyone have any matlab reference codes or any related material to study....... to simulate an EM-signal propagating through an iron mesh... ?
