help on band structure of 2D photonic crystal slab

Hi, everyone! I'm calculating the band structure for line defects of 2D photonic crystal slab now. But I don't know how to project the light line and slab modes from the slab Brillouin zone onto the line-defect Brillouin zone. Who can show the method for detail?
