dimension in pde tool

hi i am facing dimension problem in pde tool,it is avaliable in matlab.

when we open pde tool to create a structure, it species X axis ranges from -1.5 to 1.5 and Y axis -1 to 1.. we can vary these ranges..

i am not getting whether they are in meters or mm etc..

plz anyone can help regarding these
