RF-transmitter desing
As a part of antenna pattern measurement module, the goal is to design RF-transmitter from 900MhZ to 2.5GHz.
Any suggested IC to start with.

Is a good Signal Generator from HP or R+S not better? Otherweise, you must have a modulation & (GPIB) controlling too, also "a signal generator" has your solution per default ...

There are many dedicated IC with build in modulaiton. What i wanna ask is which one should i try.

Most SRD (small radio device) chips are dedicated either to sub 1 GHz (300 - 900 MHz) or 2.4 GHz applications. I'm not aware of a device
covering the requested frequency range. You may want to use a transmitter, that don't need external VCO elements together with a
frequency tripler. Only few of the various available sub GHz chips may be suitable. Check yourself.

For antennas usually we need a CW source. How can this be implemented. My knowledge is limited in this field
