Dear all
I have designed the 2D photonic crystal structure based on the dielectric rods.
it has the refractive index of the rod 3.5 and background index is 1.5.
radius of rod is .1 micrometer and radius of defect rods is .06 micrometer.
lattice constant is 0.4 micrometer.
I am using fullwave(Rsoft) to plot the transmission characteristics of the design .I am launching the gaussian beam (CW) at the input. To define the input launch field (in fullwave) we have to need the value of Neff. Can anyone plz suggest me how to calculate the Neff for the designed file .
