Coplanar strip line design-HFSS
i wish to design a coplanar stripline on a dielectric substrate with HFSS and wants to study both odd and even field configurations. Since i am new to Asoft HFSS i would like somebody to please help me out with the excitations and other guidelines. I shall be highly obliged.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your response, but to much concern, I am looking for CPS and not CPW. Please help me.
What do you mean with "coplanar stripline" ? Two parallel lines?
by coplanar stripline , what i mean is:
please find attached the cps structure.
Do you have a solution?
I'm trying the simulation of a CPS in CST Microwave studio. I want to get the line impedance.
I have tried with waveguide and lumped port but I don't get the expected results (I'm even not sure where I can find the line impedance value).
An analytic calculation of a CPS can be found in http://140.120.11.121/~denda/Upload/...and%20mono.pdf
thank you for your reply. the paper was indeed helpful. but what i want to know is, whether or not the dimensions of CPS ie width of slot and strips, dependent on frequency? if yes, then what all are tyhe relations?
please help.
I think the Z0 of a CPS should be independent of the frequency.
If you look on the synthesis formulas in the paper there is no frequency involved.
Also note the paper assumes a loss free substrate. Probably with a lossy substrate Z0 depends on frequency.
OK. Nw when i simulated CPS considering one dimension, i got few "dips" in the S11 and S21 curves, even though the circuit is not a radiating one, neither it should signify the resonance condition as there is no cavity.
any help please.
Yes. You will see these dips if the line impedance is not exactly the port impedance. And of course, it is never exactly the same.
thanks for your reply. can you suggest some measures to curb these unwanted dips?
