inductance vr Iac and IDC

need to understand what's the effect when i excited the inductor with Dc current and AC current?
i know may be it's a smart question but i googled to see the difference between AC and DC tests , but i need ur help toooo
i know the bearability of the inductor is different with AC and DC.
