Lens-Corrected Horns
anyone familiar with lens-corrected conical horns?
I'm having difficulties in equations for the profile of the lens.
anyone have materials to share?
cheers
Hi huiyuzz
here some pictures maybe you can learn from it

The general idea is to convert a spherical wave front from the horn to a plane wave front by making the delay through the lens the proper value vs location. If you make the horn longer the curvature is less.
The lens can be a true solid dielectric material or an artificial dielectric. I have seen one where a multilayer PC board had different metal patterns on each layer.
be aware that the lens may impose a severe loss on the signal strength. It may increase the directivity, but the gain will decrease, thanks to the lower efficiency.
if u are interested, I got some scanned copies of the carlyle sletten, reflectors and lens antennas, analysis and design using personal computers.

Hi brazilian,
thanks u offered to help.. yes i wud like the analysis, design and simulations of lens antenna, preferably horns..
Can you please upload or provide links for Reflector and Lens Antennas: Analysis and Design Using Personal Computers (Hardcover)
