Recommend a tutorial/book on UWB, that has a practical style

As in the title, please recommend a tutorial/book on UWB, that has simple examples, preferably block diagrams - even down to schematics for RF blocks, results, and a more practical style.

Being a new domain i would like to understand the basics, rather than description of high data rate, complex protocols/standards in development.
