fm front end
I'm new to this forum so hello everyone.
I would like to eventually design my own FM tuner front end (HiFi). I am aware of the basic topology eg RF amplifier, Local oscillator, mixer and first 10.7Mhz IF stage.
I would like to use varactor diodes, dual gate MOSFETS (or GaS FETS if possible) and
one or 2 ceramic filters in the IF stage.
This is a long term goal of mine and I am trying to educate myself and eventually produce a working prototype front end.
Could someone please suggest a textbook or an online source of design information?
I have been looking at a few schematics from modern HIFI tuners (circa 1990) but would rather not copy an old design entirely.
This area of design seems to be a black art. I hope someone can shed some light for me.
David.
P.S This is a serious post and I'm not interested in buying anything off people who post on this site.
