rf repeater circuit diagram
I am designing an RF repeater at 5.8 GHz for point to point link.
Can anybody tell me about how to select the transmit and receive frequency of the RF repeater? should they be same or different? How to mitigate multipath effects and fading? Do anybody has any circuit diagram for that? what kind of configurations generally base station manufacturer will expect to see in an RF repeater? In other words, what will be their expectations from the repeater manufacturer if at all they want to deploy repeaters in their network path?
Hoping to your kind reply.
Thanks
Hi, most of the question will be derived from the repeater specifications.
For cancellation of fading etc you need to proceed the data digitally.
As it is digital section its better post in other section.
I am confused with last ?
Do you have any idea about the noise cancellation techniques or equalization techniques in the RF section?
My last question is, what are the functionalities should exist inside the repeater, so that someone can buy in the marketplace?
I am designing this repeater for point to point applications in the Wimax frequency band.
Again, thanks for replying me.
Basically repeaters suffer from echo when the gain is very high.
For a low gain systems you need not worry.
Thus the specifications of repeater basically from the customer. We can have robust repeater with all FFPA, sharp filtering etc but if just one amplifier is enough for the customer requirement then what is the point is having complex sytem?
So collect the system specification then design the functions.
If the application is 802.11a, I think RF repeaters aren't used as range extenders rather than base stations operating in a repeater mode.
