2009 ieee projects

Hello friends,

I am a beginner to this site.I have been assigned a project and the project title is

"cavity backed stripline to microstrip transition for high frequency high speed multilayer circuit boards with v-shaped extension".

My guide has told me that in this project the design has to be done using HFSS ?
I don't know what is HFSS and then it seems that the antenna designed has to be optimized, fabricated and tested ? I AM TOTALLY LOST as i really do now know how to begin this project.Kindly guide me as to how I should start this project.Is it that first some design should be done in paper and then in software ? Please help.

Hai ... don't worry u can do it...... HFSS is a EM simulation software ... First u take some IEEE paper (ieee.org) related to this topic. Then u can do this project easily.

However, I have some doubts, Please help.

1)Firstly, this is my masters degree because some of my friends project's have been rejected citing the reasons like that they have done some substandard work.I just want to know, is this project really worth doing in masters level.Since, I am doing this project in a govt.org, they have given me this project.This project also involves less design and no coding.the source for this project is

2)Please provide guidance on this and let me know whether this project is really worth doing because the project duration is 10 months, I think this project will be over within 2 months - 3 months. If possible, Please provide me suggestions as to other projects in other fields.
