PASSIVE FREQUENCY DOUBLER
I am ll new to RF circuit design, I need to design on ADS a PASSIVE frequency doubler, using baluns for operating range of 2-10Ghz. can somebody please help with the circuit design.
Thanks,
Nishant

Thanks a lot! this would really help. I have been asked to find out and use Balun in my circuit design and basically stripline baluns have to be used. doyou have something which can help using balun? and how do we find what are the components of balun and what size it has to be. My oprating range is 2-10GHz.
Thanks again
Unfortunately the microstrip baluns are narrowband, and cannot be used for the frequency range you mentioned.
Below is an example of a wideband balun, but having less BW you specified.

I once had a student use a FET drain and source as an active balun, which then drove a pair of fets (in place of the passive diodes) to form a broadband doubler. You could try simulating that. You do not need any reactive elements, or specific wavelength lines, to generate the 180 deg shift that way.
