Passive frequency divider, can it be done?
However, can a passive VHF to HF frequency DIVIDER be made somehow?
it is pretty hard. you need to do a "parametric" divider, and have bandpass filters at the input and output, and possibly a idler circuit at intermediate subharmonics. it would not have a good dynamic range.
you might do better with a regenerative divider based on an amplifier with bandpass feedback.
The only thing I can find is this "staircase frequency divider" that I think can be converted to pure passive.
Searching the web for "parametric frequency divider" does not help. Can you gibe me some ideas of what to look for?
This regenerative frequency divider, why it can't be made passive? I do not get, how the feedback signal is Fin/2 ?
