simulation of front end of receiver of LTE/WIMAX

the receiver of LTE/WIMAX has two portions the front end and the base band. front ned contains the analog circuitry while the baseband works on digital. i have heard that the simulation of whole receiver is done on matlab. is it true? i mean can we simulate baseband (digital)+ front end(analog) on matlab? if yes than please tell me how front end designing and simulation is done. plz help me.

I want to know that if I work on the designing of Front end i.e the RF front end of LTE (analog part) so on which software I can design it. Secondly how can I simulate it. For instance if I design the front end on ORCAD or MULTISIM so I can’t generate the signal of LTE over there. The signal of LTE can only be generate at MATLAB I think. Is there any method to design the Front end over MATLAB just the behavioral modeling?
