Is bandwidth of a class E power amplifier a metric to consider?

I have a question about the bandwidth of a class E power amplifier (nonlinear, switching). Since the class E power amplifier uses a LC resonant tank in the output network to filter unwanted harmonics but pick the wanted fundamental frequency, the PA should be considered as narrow bandwidth.

So my question is here:
Is the bandwidth a characteristic/metric I should take into consideration in my case (the class E PA)? If yes, why? If no, why?

Thank you very much.

The bandwidth of an RF amplifier is always a metric to consider. If is relevent or not depends on how much larger is respect the wanted bandwidth of your system or application. The reason is simple: out of band you have lower power respect to inband and your specification is not met.

So, usual design flow should start from certain requirements (bandwidth is one of the most important) and design result has to guarantee it in all specified conditions.

Hope it can help.

Your consideration is true..
Class E amplifiers are narrowband amplifiers because the "components" are designed at one single frequency.

It's very hard to design a wideband class E amplifier, because the output L-C resonator is narrow.
