Hi guys, here to get guidance from you!i am trying to write up a proposal for my FYP topic."RFID basedAsset Monitoring"..however i would like to build a reader operating at 13.56Mhz but with a reading range of 1m at the very least, from my research so far i have seen tht most readers at this range have close proximity reading range at tht frequency which is leass than 1 meter..I think i would have to build an antenna that would increase the range of my reading circuit..my part is mainly hardware of the project(programming microcontroller for the reader circuit and building it) and my partner will do the software part i.e databse part,,is this possible in your view and would it make a good final year project? project time is 6 months.. ...thanx
Did you notice the existence of concurrent standards for proximity (ISO 14443) and vincinity (ISO 15693) RFID at 13.56 MHz?
For the latter, operation distances of several meters are quite common, although involving large coupler coils ("antennas") and considerable power. I suggest to learn about existing standards and state of the art first before risking to reinvent the (square) wheel with your project.
- helical coil operating at 13.56MHz boundary conditions in hfss
- Help on operating point file in SMASH tool
- GSM Detector (operating and standby modes)
- Operating point for oscillator design
- Printed UWB Antenna Operating Over Multiple Mobile Wireless Standards
- Microwave connector - maximum operating freq.
