Installing one antenna in a system only needs your effort to point it to a remote opposite antenna. You can think about microwaves behaving like a light beam.
It is recommended to use a receiver connected to your antenna during installation, with a RSSI or signal-level indicator. Following the indicator, you shall point the antenna for a maximum, then, using the mechanical attachment screws, fix the optimum position.
If you, however, need to install both antennas, you need a friend who will handle the other antenna, and a walkie-talkie to communicate with him. You will both have to optimize the positions of each antenna in small steps. Once the signal-level indication is optimum, both antennas should be fixed in the optimum positions.
It is a good hands-on experience recommended to anyone handling a wireless communication link.
