Help me design a 27hz FM receiver for colpitts transmitter
Many thanks for anyone who will be able to help me!
Hi Zeller,
In your transmitter you should be using an LC resonant tank (or Xtl) for the main oscillator circuitery. This LC tank will determine the oscillation frequency (around 27 Mhz).
Use the same one for the receiver connected to an antenna (wire) and in parallel to a RF amplifier (BJT or FET). The LC tank used in the receiver will have a high impedance at the resonant frequence and will act like a shortcut to ground at other frequencies.
But without viewing your transmitter, it is a little bit difficult to go further ...
Good luck
You need more than a tuned circuit and a diode to resolve FM.
Agreed, you need a tuned circuit consisting of an inductor and capacitor, resonant at the same frequency as the transmission but that will only recover the signal envelope. The envelope is (should be!) constant in an FM transmission so no modulation would be recovered. There are numerous ways of detecting the frequency deviation but the best method depends on other factors, in particular, the modulation index and whether the signal frequency is fixed or tunable.
Brian.
