GDSII is a 2D file format.
For EM analysis, you need to assign the z-position and layers properties in the EM model editor.
thanks for answer!
Can your describe this procedure more detail for me?
I am working with other EM solvers (Sonnet and Empire FDTD), so I do not know the procedure in Q3D.
Maybe someone have tutorial about creating package model (for example, DIP) in any EM solver?
If you have AnsoftLinks, you can import your GDS files and the corresponding techs file for the stackup. Then you can export directly to Q3D from this tool.
later :)
Maybe anybody have tutorial/example of modeling package in Ansoft Q3D extractor (or in other solver)?
