2.4GHz is legal for r/c model flying

Hello
I have a query about 2.4GHz radio frequency. I am into radio control model flying, I used Futaba and Spektrum radio control set. Now if you go to website indianhobbies.com/shop/ you will see that are saying >>>

* We are India's only legal authorized Importer of DX6i, DX5 Spektrum & T6EX-2.4GHz FUTABA Radios. DX5, DX6i & T6EX are the only approved Radios in India by Dept. of Telecommunications, India.

It could be fake or true but how to verify this? I try to search DOT and WPC website about new rules for legal authorised frequencies for radio control model flying. I want to know where they says that we can use 2.4GHz radio for model flying. If anybody know about this please help me to find the new rule. If 2.4GHz radio controls are now legal in India then I would like to buy few more radios legal way for my model planes.
Regards,
?

Hello, am I in a radioshadow here, because I don't understand what you mean it's being illegal.

I don't understand anything of this.. I have a 2.4GHz to my airoplane and I've never heard anything about it's being illegal? It's not illegal in Sweden anyhow, sold in every hobby store here.. so what are we acctually talking about? Really confusing :/

Regards

/ Morgan

Sir, I am talking about INDIA, not Sweden. In INDIA legal frequency for radio control toys and model was 27 MHz AM before but I am not sure about any new changes.

2.4 may be (depending on locale) one of the ISM bands
where regulation is pretty loose. If you can buy a cordless
phone or WLAN router in that band at local retail then
you're not going to get busted for flying a model airplane.

But I have read stuff saying India is not the same as
USA / Europe in what bands it approves. You should go
straight to your communications bureaucracy and see
what the allocated ISM bands are, where you live.

Not up on current events in India, but back in 2001 you could use the a portion of the 2.4 ghz band, but needed a license from the WPC.

It is likely that this RC company imports the radios, programs them to the allowed frequency channels, and has purchased a license to use them in India. You could but the same box somewhere else, but you would not have the "license" to use it, and might end up using it on frequency channels that are not allowed in India.

You need someone from India to comment further.
