S-parameter - surface recombination

Hi all,

is there a possibility to draw conclusions from the s-parameter measurements on the surface recombination of a diode?
This IMPATT diode operates, together with a fitting resonator, as an oscillator.
The frequency range is 40-100GHz.
Anyone any ideas on good literature and software on this topic
