Need to build a 3G modem antenna ............................

I have this BSNL 3g modem manufactured by Teracom. I am facing an issue of frequent disconnection. This has been a terible problem for me. I have decided to build an antenna for this modem. I am a mechanical engineer and can do the mechanics part of fabrication etc. I need some ones help in doing so as electronics is not my field.
